Shang Pin Spa: A Macau Sauna Weeknight in Six Zones
Okada walked Shang Pin Spa's six zones in the building's order one Tuesday at 22:10 and chose the room last. For Hong Kong, Monday October 19 is the night.
One Tuesday at 22:10, in Shang Pin Spa’s reception lobby, Okada, mid-forties, from Fukuoka, second time in Macau and staying at a Cotai hotel, put his passport on the counter under the lit venue sign and took a locker key. His one line to us that afternoon had read “tonight, if possible”. On his first trip he had spent the opening hour at this counter choosing a course, and was half asleep by the time he reached a room. This time he had one night and a hotel bed already paid for in Cotai, so he took the key, left the course open, and walked on.
Hong Kong readers get the same kind of night this autumn: an ordinary Macau weekday that falls inside a Hong Kong day off. Monday, October 19, the day after Chung Yeung, is that day, and the Cotai hotels and the building run on their weekday rhythm that night.
Reception lobby, locker room, the sauna and bath pools with the jacuzzi, the Neon and Mirror Stage, the recliner lobby lounge, and the private rooms with the Violet Themed Bedroom and the private rest rooms: six zones, taken in the order the building puts them, with the room decided only at the last of them. That was the shape of Okada’s night, and a weeknight is the night that lets you keep the order.
What our booking did with “tonight, if possible” was three things. A private car, never shared, at his hotel door that evening, to the entrance of Lisboeta Macau in Cotai. The course left open. The two free add-on mini services left for him to choose on the spot after he arrived. Questions in between are answered free, as often as you need.
Reception to locker
In the locker room Okada put his phone at the back of the locker, with his wallet and the hotel key card. Everything inside the building runs on the locker key, so his hands were empty from there. Nothing left to decide travelled with him past this door.
Water and stage — the room can wait
Sauna, then the bath pool, then the jacuzzi up to the shoulders. The signature bubble bath is taken in this same corner, and he left it for another visit and kept to the water. On a weeknight the pools turn over slowly, and the jacuzzi was his alone for long stretches.
Out of the water, he did not go straight to a room. He stopped at the Neon and Mirror Stage: steps lit white from beneath, round mirrors along the wall, the ceiling washed amethyst. On his first trip he would have been in a room by this hour, eyes already closing. He sat at the edge of the steps for ten minutes and decided the room could wait. Therapists are on duty until 06:00, so a start after midnight is still a full course.
The lobby lounge — where the course gets chosen
The recliner lobby lounge has blue light panels along the wall and a recliner in each partition; at the end of the corridor are the private-room doors with their V numbers. Okada took a recliner on the corridor side and told the staff what he wanted from there. His choice was the most-chosen Aroma SPA series and his two free add-ons, foot reflexology and a head massage, picked on the spot.
The Violet Themed Bedroom, and the last decision
He was shown to the Violet Themed Bedroom: a wall of tiny star-like lights, two pink light columns, folded towels at the foot of the bed. From there the time was his.
The last decision waited outside the room. Rest in the free lobby lounge until morning, take a paid private rest room and lie down in a bed, or go back. Okada rested two hours in the lounge and returned to his hotel before first light. The bed was already paid for in Cotai. For a hotel guest, the weeknight inside his holiday was never a night for sleeping here; it was a night for walking six zones in order. The car back took one word at reception, and his total time at that counter, arrival included, was a few minutes.
Six zones, the Tuesday clock, and how a weekend evening differs
| Zone | This Tuesday | Weekend night |
|---|---|---|
| Reception lobby | 22:10, name given, key taken | Tell us your arrival time first |
| Locker room | 22:20, changed, hands empty | The same; valuables always inside |
| Sauna, pools, jacuzzi | 22:30, the jacuzzi alone | Pools turn over faster |
| Neon and Mirror Stage | 23:20, a seat on the steps | Standing room some nights |
| Recliner lobby lounge | 23:40, any partition | Whichever recliner is free |
| Private rooms | 00:00 on, two hours or till dawn | Ask early about rest rooms |
The times are Okada’s actual night. The venue is open 24 hours; therapists are on duty daily from 15:00 to 06:00 (as of September 2026). Private rest rooms are paid and depend on that night’s availability.

Before a weeknight, the questions we get most
Is that weeknight really a weekday floor?
Yes. It is a Hong Kong holiday and an ordinary working day in Macau, so Cotai and the building both run on a weekday rhythm that night.
Can a course still start after midnight?
The venue is open 24 hours, and therapists are on duty daily from 15:00 to 06:00 (as of September 2026). A start after midnight is a full course.
Where do I rest if I stay until morning?
The recliner lobby lounge is free until morning. If you want a bed, the paid private rest rooms depend on that night’s availability; mention it when you book and decide inside the building. How an overnight works is on the overnight page.
Can I arrive without having chosen a course?
Yes. Okada had not chosen one at reception. Advice is free as often as you like, and the two free add-on mini services are chosen on the spot after you arrive. The order of the zones is laid out on the Macau sauna guide, and the rooms he passed through, the Violet Themed Bedroom among them, are on the rooms page.
Your date, your hotel, and whether the night is a sleep-over or a walk-through: send those three through the contact page. We arrange the car. All that is left for you at reception, at 22:10 on your own weeknight, is to pick up the key.
